Spanish visitors choose Madeira as a holiday destination, as indicated by the latest figures released by the Madeira Promotion Association (APM): from January to June, Spain registers an increase compared to the same period in 2022 in both number of guests (+54.5%), with 22,838, as well as overnight stays (+47.6%), reaching 83,891. The capital of Madeira, Funchal, and the southern municipalities of Santa Cruz and the western part of the island, Calheta, have been the favorites of the Spanish traveler, registering the highest number of overnight stays in these points.
