During the month of February, Blueroom organized two familiarization trips (FAM Trips) to the Sultanate of Oman for tourism professionals.

These initiatives are part of the destination’s international promotion strategy and aim to introduce participants to the country’s rich cultural, scenic, and experiential offerings, allowing them to discover its tourism options firsthand.

The first FAM Trip took place from February 13th to 19th, with a tour of some of the country’s most iconic locations. The program included places like Muscat, where participants visited some of its main cultural landmarks, such as the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and the traditional Muttrah Souq; the east coast with stops at emblematic natural sites like Bimmah Sinkhole; or Ras Al Hadd, famous for its beaches and for being one of the main nesting sites for sea turtles in the region.

The trip continued inland with a visit to the spectacular Wadi Bani Khalid and the Al Sharqiyah Sands desert, where participants learned about Bedouin culture and enjoyed activities among the dunes. The route ended in Nizwa, one of Oman’s most important historical cities, and in the Jebel Al Akhdar mountains, known for their stunning landscapes and traditional agricultural terraces.

The second FAM Trip, held from February 22nd to 27th, coincided with the start of the holy month of Ramadan, allowing participants to experience an even more authentic cultural immersion.

Among the highlights were an iftar aboard a traditional dhow off the coast of Muscat, a stroll through the historic Muttrah Souq, and experiences in unique locations such as Al Suwgra Village, where participants enjoyed a traditional dinner.

The itinerary also included visits to the historic city of Nizwa, before continuing to Wadi Bani Khalid and the desert, where activities such as dune safaris, dinners under the stars, and a sunrise hot air balloon ride were organized.

The trip concluded in Muscat with meetings between international delegations representing Oman and the Omani Ministry of Heritage and Tourism to discuss the tourism opportunities offered by Ramadan, thus strengthening opportunities for collaboration and destination promotion.

With the organization of these two FAM Trips, Blueroom continues working alongside its clients to boost the international visibility of strategic destinations and create experiences that allow industry professionals to gain in-depth knowledge of them. Oman is the quintessential Arab destination, combining heritage, nature, culture and hospitality, establishing itself as a unique proposition for international travelers.
