Santa Eulària des Riu, the third-largest municipality in Ibiza, located on the island’s eastern coast, continues to establish itself as a destination offering a more authentic, tranquil, and quality-oriented Ibiza. With 46 kilometers of coastline and the only river in the Balearic Islands, the municipality stands out for its natural diversity, cultural richness, and strong commitment to preserving local traditions.
According to its mayor, Carmen Ferrer, “we want to attract tourists who respect the environment, seek a diverse destination without clichés, and combine modernity with care for our culture and traditions. Therefore, we aim to engage all visitors, whether national or international, and especially families, who are sometimes overlooked due to a lack of awareness about the destination.” In this context, Santa Eulària des Riu strengthens its positioning as a family-friendly destination, promoting initiatives such as the Family Momentsbrand and the development of a digital family pass, offering specific benefits and experiences for those traveling with children.
Year-round tourism is another key pillar of the municipality’s strategy. Beyond sun and beach, the destination highlights a wide range of offerings, including sports events, cultural festivals like the Festival Barruguet, hiking and cycling routes, gastronomic fairs, and charming hotels, aiming to generate activity and employment throughout the year.
Aligned with this vision, Santa Eulària showcased its family-friendly positioning at FITUR 2026 through a performance for children, inspired by its well-known Festival Barrugets. Visitors at IFEMA enjoyed the festival’s signature Barrugets and had the chance to win a weekend in the region, including a special invitation to the festival itself.
With this roadmap, Santa Eulària des Riu reaffirms its positioning as a diverse, authentic, and sustainable destination, capable of attracting quality tourism that values experiences, respect for the environment, and the cultural essence of Ibiza.
