On June 7th, Pamplona will become the center of international Muay Thai with War Of Champions, an event featuring Muay Thai, boxing, and MMA, supported by Tourism of Thailand. The main highlight of the evening will be the Muay Thai World Championship, which will place the Navarrese capital at the centre of the international circuit.
The evening will crown the world champion and the Spanish champion of Muay Thai, with the participation of Pamplona natives Mikel and Ion Fernández Cía, who will compete for the world and national titles. This event not only highlights the talent of Spanish athletes but also strengthens the ties between Spain and Thailand through this ancient discipline.
In the words of Alejandro Pérez Ferrant, representative of Tourism of Thailand in Spain and CEO of The Blueroom Project: “This event not only strengthens the knowledge of Thai boxing in our country but also acts as a boost to tourism in Thailand, inspiring travelers to visit the country, the world leader in this sport, and experience it in person. Additionally, it is a source of pride that two Pamplona natives, residents in Bangkok, are fighting for the World and Spain Championship titles.”
Muay Thai, known as the “Art of Eight Limbs,” is one of the most cherished traditions in Thailand, and The Blueroom Project serves as a cultural bridge, offering Spanish enthusiasts the opportunity to explore this discipline both through live competitions and at one of Thailand’s many specialized training camps and gyms across the country.
