Oman is increasingly attracting Spanish tourists and is consolidating its position as an emerging reference destination on the international stage. This month, the country has received important recognitions highlighting its growing popularity and the quality of its tourism offering. Among them, Revista Viajar awarded Oman the “Trending Destination 2026” accolade, while Conde Nast Traveler España and Viajes National Geographic nominated it as Best International Destination, reflecting the interest and high regard it generates among discerning travelers.

In this way, Oman continues to establish itself as a destination of growing appeal for Spanish tourists. According to data from the Sultanate’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, more than 10,700 Spaniards visited the country between January and November 2025, representing a 23% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

This growth reflects a combination of an authentic, sustainable, and differentiated tourism offering within the Middle East, far from mass tourism and focused on cultural and natural experiences. The profile of Spanish travelers is increasingly diverse, combining cultural tourism, adventure, nature, and premium experiences—from the wadis and deserts of the interior to the Indian Ocean coast and the historic heritage of Muscat and Nizwa.

“Spanish travelers today are looking for safe destinations with culture and a strong sense of identity, and Oman perfectly meets that demand,” note officials from the Ministry, which plans to further promote the country and strengthen collaboration with the tourism sector in 2026.

At FITUR 2026, Oman also reinforced its positioning in Spain through interviews and strategic meetings with key players in the national tourism sector, and it lit up Madrid with its presence, deploying digital advertising on screens in the city’s busiest locations, capturing the attention of thousands of potential travelers and strengthening its visibility as a leading destination.
