As the world’s oldest expedition cruise company, HX Expeditions continues its mission of taking people to the most remote corners of the planet—places few have the chance to experience firsthand—while preserving their natural and cultural integrity. At the end of 2025, the company announced its 2027/28 travel collection, marking a new chapter in the way it explores the world and continuing its mission to redefine what truly meaningful exploration means.

Rather than expanding its list of destinations, HX has focused on offering authentic and immersive experiences, providing a perspective unlike anything offered by any other cruise experience.

One of the company’s most notable initiatives has been the global expansion of its pioneering educational collaboration with the University of Tasmania (UTAS) and its Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS). HX and the University of Tasmania have transformed the original program, extending it from pole to pole with educational itineraries tailored to each region. First launched in 2024 as a free training program, this second phase offers a deeper immersion into Antarctic science and sustainability, allowing participants to earn university credits. To date, 933 people have completed the program, reflecting strong engagement and a growing interest in educational and responsible travel.

With this approach, HX Expeditions reaffirms its vision that travel can be a transformative experience, where each itinerary not only uncovers new landscapes and cultures but also inspires greater respect, awareness, and connection with the planet.
