On November 11 in Madrid, The Blueroom Project, as the Official Representatives of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in Spain, hosted the presentation of the “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism & Sports Year 2025”. This initiative aims to address tourism seasonality and promote year-round visits by showcasing unique experiences and local festivals. The event was held at the Hotel Gran Meliá Palacio de los Duques and welcomed over 100 industry professionals, including 18 Thai tourism companies, 6 partner airlines, and more than 80 representatives from Spanish tour operators and travel agencies. The event was also attended by officials from the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Thai Ambassador to Spain.
Between January and November 2024, more than 169,000 Spanish visitors traveled to Thailand. Tourism from Spain to Thailand is experiencing remarkable growth of approximately 40%, significantly outpacing the global and European average tourism growth rates.
Looking ahead to 2025, TAT plans to enhance its offerings with the “Thai Charms” and “Hidden Gem Cities”campaigns, designed to promote tourism throughout the country. Additionally, travel experiences will be diversified into five key categories:
- Must Taste: focusing on Thailand’s rich culinary heritage.
- Must Try: featuring Muay Thai as a cultural experience.
- Must Buy: showcasing unique fashion and local products.
- Must Seek: encouraging exploration of emerging destinations.
- Must See: celebrating cultural festivals and major events.
As part of this strategy, TAT is expanding air connectivity and promoting lesser-known destinations with an emphasis on sustainable tourism development, ensuring economic benefits reach various regions across the country.
This initiative reinforces Thailand’s status as a top destination for the Spanish market, offering a compelling blend of authenticity, cultural diversity, and sustainability.
