In fact, it has been nominated as the safest European destination to travel in 2021, according to the list drawn up by the <em>European Best Destinations<\/em> (EBD), which has assessed a series of aspects to grant this recognition: for example, the set of measures applied by the region, specifically, through the \u201cMadeira Safe to Discover\u201d program or the \u201cClean and Safe\u201d Tourism Certificate in Portugal, staying in a green zone with one of the lowest Covid cases rates in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Another reason of the success of this destination this summer has been the result of good air connectivity, with direct flights from the main cities of Spain, Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, among others, and the increase in the marketing of the product between tour operators and travel agencies in the country.
